LMFAO leading the Songs of the Summer 2011 charts

LMFAO
After leading the Songs of the Summer 2011 chart for the first seven weeks of the season, Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" drops out of the top slot (1-2) in favor of the festive "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett & GoonRock, which leapfrogs 3-1.

"Party" makes its move to the top of Summer Songs as it enjoys its sixth straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Summer Songs 2011 ranking is a week-by-week tally of the top titles according to Hot 100 activity from Memorial Day through Labor Day (i.e., charts dated June 11-Sept. 17).

With only four weeks left in our measurement period -- sad to say for all you sun revelers -- "Party Rock Anthem" could anchor itself atop the Summer Songs list the rest of the way as the chart's next two titles, Adele's "Rolling" and "Give Me Everything" by Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo (2-3), have both peaked on the Hot 100. The Summer chart's next most active Hot 100 song is Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" which holds at No. 4 on the seasonal tally while bulleting at No. 3 on the Hot 100. The final Summer Songs 2011 ranking will be announced on Billboard.com on Thursday, Sept. 8.

The titles from No. 5 to No. 9 on Summer Songs all remain stationary from a week ago. Respectively, they are Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory," "E.T." by Katy Perry featuring Kanye West, Lil Wayne's "How To Love" and "The Lazy Song" by Bruno Mars. The only new top 10 entry this week is "Good Life" by OneRepublic at No. 10.
